How It All Began: The Story of Dimmy's Farm

Isn’t business like growing a tree?

The roots of a tree are deep in the soil, yet it reaches toward the sky. It reminds us that to aim high, we must stay firmly grounded — and that no matter how tall we grow, our strength always comes from our roots.

We didn’t start Dimmy’s Farm in the typical way.

We had no inherited land we didn’t know what to do with, nor an orchard ready to go. All we had was a dream — and 200 trees. That’s it. That’s how it all began, back in the not-so-distant year of 2021.

But so what? There are people with vast plantations who often appear on TV, facing the harsh reality of being unable to sell their produce, or having to part with it for next to nothing. Sadly, this is a familiar story among fruit growers in Bulgaria.

Yet when your heart tells you to follow your dream, those things somehow lose their weight. We’re Dimitar and Preslava — the people behind Dimmy’s Farm. We didn’t give up, no matter the obstacles. Even when things got tough and we questioned whether we’d make it, we always found a way to move forward.

The idea for Dimmy’s Farm was born from two main challenges:

On one hand, the painfully low buying prices for fruit; on the other — the lack of high-quality fruit sauces and jams made with 100% fruit on our local market. That’s how our Spicy & Hot Plum Sauces came to life — the first Bulgarian fruit-based sauces of their kind. Created with great attention to detail, they are more than just products — they are an expression of our passion to offer something authentic and truly unique.

Our jams, too, are made entirely from fruit — 100% fruit content, no added sugar, and made with whole fruits — something still rare to find in Bulgaria.

We believe the food we eat has a powerful impact on our health. That’s why we put a piece of ourselves into every batch we make — guided by our philosophy of honest, wholesome food made the natural way.

Mistakes are inevitable.

Like any new beginning, when you start without experience, you’re bound to make them — and we did, and still do. But you know what? That doesn’t stop us. Every failure is a lesson that helps us grow stronger. When you believe deeply in what you do, giving up simply isn’t an option. Yes, sometimes you take a step back, reflect, and then move forward with even more confidence. No one is born knowing everything — and that’s the magic of this journey.

Today, less than a year since we launched our first product, we can’t help but feel proud. You — the people around us — often notice our progress more than we do, because we’re so immersed in the work itself. But when we take a moment to look back and see what we’ve achieved in just eight months, the feeling is incredible.

We’ve reached hundreds of thousands of people, partnered with stores across Bulgaria — many of whom found us — and built a community of people who don’t just love our products, but feel part of the Dimmy’s Farm family. You are the reason all of this is possible, and we’re endlessly grateful for your trust and support every single day!

And now, just like everything else we do, we’re starting this blog for you! Here you’ll find all the latest news — upcoming events, exhibitions, new products, and of course, delicious recipes.

And for those who made it this far — here’s a little secret: Very soon, you’ll be able to find our first dried fruits — sour cherries and plums — in our online shop and at all our partner stores. They turned out truly amazing… but we’ll tell you more about them very soon!
